Santa Sleigh 2024

And that’s a wrap! After an extremely busy few weeks we at Denby Dale District Lions Club have waved goodbye to Santa who has gone back to his hideout at the North Pole to get ready for the big night!

Whilst he was with us we managed to take him and his elves out on his sleigh on 16 evening runs around our villages and we also helped him attend no less than 31 other events bringing Christmas joy to our community and smiles to the faces of adults and children alike!!

As well as presiding over the switching on of the Christmas lights at 4 of our villages, he visited a number of First Schools, Nursery Schools, Christmas Fairs, Care Homes, a facility for children with special needs, Social Clubs, party venues, a golf club and even a Horse Sanctuary! In between all that we took him and his sleigh to Morrisons on two consecutive Saturdays. All in all we covered a mammoth 47 Santa events raising much needed funds ready for distribution to good causes in 2025.

Apart from our Santa activities, the Club has also been working with The Pantry in Skelmanthorpe in providing no less than 56 Christmas food hampers for distribution to people and families suffering severe hardship within our community this Christmas. A very worthwhile project and one which we are proud to be part of

All of this has only been made possible because of the hardworking and dedicated members of our Club and also the volunteers who have helped us by giving up some of their precious spare time! Thank you.

We would also like to say a massive THANK YOU to every single one of you who have supported us by giving up some of your hard-earned cash this Christmas and throughout the year at our various fundraising events.

We couldn’t do what we do without you!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR from all of us at Denby Dale District Lions Club
