Santa Sleigh 2025

December has been a whirlwind of Santa activities here at Denby Dale District Lions Club with an incredible 45 events arranged involving the big man himself!

As well as 16 evening sleigh runs around the villages that make up our community, we also took Santa and his sleigh to the Christmas tree lights switch-on in Denby Dale, Skelmanthorpe, Upper Denby and Ingbirchworth where large crowds of excited children and adults gathered to see the trees light up! Music, Carol singing and the always popular Lions BBQ added to the Christmas cheer with smiling faces all round! An amazing 29 Santa visits also took place at School Christmas Fairs, Nursery and Toddler Groups, Care Homes, Facilities for Adults and children with disabilities and special needs, Sports and Social Clubs and Bars, a Golf Club and even a Christmas party for dogs! 

The Club also provided nearly 60 Christmas Food Hampers to the local food bank plus 75 selection boxes and 45 new and used toys for distribution to those in need at Christmas.

All in all a fantastic month of Christmas fun and fundraising for our community!!
