What a fantastic turnout we had for our annual Beer Festival the other weekend!! This is one of our most popular fundraisers and has been going for well over 30 years raising much needed funds for good causes locally and Lions chosen charities. Just imagine how many pints we will have served during that time!

Whilst he was with us we managed to take him and his elves out on his sleigh on 16 evening runs around our villages and we also helped him attend no less than 31 other events bringing Christmas joy to our community and smiles to the faces of adults and children alike!

Denby Dale District Lions Club were once again delighted to be able to support our local Hospices by making donations of £1,000 each to The Kirkwood, Barnsley Hospice, Forget Me Not Children's Hospice and Wakefield Hospice.

Emley Show is always a great event to have in any calendar so that’s why it has become a regular fundraising day for us at Denby Dale District Lions Club! It’s one of the biggest agricultural shows in Yorkshire and attracts thousands of people every year from far and wide.

In July we held our annual Scarecrow Trail event which has become one of our most popular and high-profile fundraising events of the year. With this years theme of ‘Animal Adventures’ people were given lots of scope to be inventive with their scarecrows and the result was a fantastic 35 entries which is the highest number that we have had since before Covid!
