Lions Cheque Presentations - April 2025

Denby Dale District Lions Club were once again delighted to be able to support our local Hospices by making donations of £1,000 each to The Kirkwood, Barnsley Hospice, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Wakefield Hospice.

Below are photos of our recent cheque presentations at The Kirkwood and Barnsley Hospices together with their kind words of thanks. This would not have been possible without the generous donations from our community who come out to support our continuing fundraising events. Thank you all. Together ‘We Serve’.

The Kirkwood said:

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Denby Dale District Lions for their incredibly generous donation of £1,000 to The Kirkwood! The Denby Dale Lions, one of the largest clubs in Yorkshire and part of the impressive Lions Clubs International, truly embody their motto "We Serve" through vital local initiatives like this. Their local support makes a real difference to local hospices like ours and we were delighted to welcome Club President Paul, along with David and Neil, on their visit to The Kirkwood to thank them in person for their wonderful contribution!

The Denby Dale District Lion’s host a number of fantastic fundraising events throughout the year, including their much-loved Santa’s Sleigh Ride and Beer Festival.
